2. ZOOLIGHTS

Sunlight to ZOOLIGHTS Admission Cost: $43.95 for seniors 60+

Date: Middle of November – beginning of January

ZOOLIGHTS lets senior loved ones and their family members adventure through a magical winter landscape while enjoying spectacular holiday lights and stunning lit-up Christmas trees.

Unfortunately, due to colder temperatures, you won’t be able to see all of the animals during your night adventure. However, you can purchase “Sunlight to ZOOLIGHTS” tickets, where you can spend the day visiting your favourite zoo animals and exhibits and then take in the sparkling lights of ZOOLIGHTS at night. This combo ticket is a cost-effective and wonderful way to enjoy everything the zoo has to offer this holiday season.

3. A Christmas Carol at Theatre Calgary

Date: End of November – End of January

A Christmas Carol is a timeless tale of Scrooge and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. Theatre Calgary puts on this play, a hallmark activity for local families in Calgary.

There’s nothing quite like seeing a historic house with all its’ halls decked with holly! The Lougheed House boasts 20 rooms and nooks, all decorated for the holiday season. This is one of our favourite December activities that has been running since 1891!

In addition to the stunning lit-up home, the Christmas event offers fun programs like intimate and unforgettable experiences with classic characters like Santa and Scrooge.
